PAST PRESIDENTS

This program tests the participants' knowledge of proper Horsemanship, horse anatomy, and basic horse health and safety. The competition involves three tests: riding, written, and groming and handling. The participants begin in Region level competittion through which they may qualify to compete for State Horsemastership Champion and Reserve Champion Titles. There are five categories offered: Conbined (Western and English), English I (includes jumping), English II (flat work only), Gymkhana, and Western. There will be two category division, Junior and Senior. The Champions be known as Combined Junior, Combinied Adult, English I Junior, English I Adult, English II Junior, English II Adult, Gymkhana Junior, Gymkhana Adult, Western Junior, Western Adult.
 
Divisions:
Seniors - Ages 18 years and older (As of 12/01/09)
Juniors - Ages 17 years and younger (As of 12/01/09)
 
There are 5 different divisions:
  • Western, Gymkhana, English 1 jumping, English 2 non jumping and combined Western & English 1.
There are 3 phases to the testing:
 
  • Grooming & Handling (50 pts) & Written Test (350 pts) and Riding Test (600 pts)
College scholarships are $650-$1000 and are awarded when the child is enrolled in college and at the State competition level.
